Our Story
Take One Threads
This one sat around in our head for years before it ever hit a shirt.
Every time a great line came up — mid-conversation, mid-argument, mid-nothing — the same thought followed it: that should be on a shirt. Not the ironic, so-bad-it's-good kind. An actual shirt — soft, well-made, something you'd reach for without thinking twice. Turns out that shirt didn't really exist. So, eventually, we made it.
So the idea just sat there, the way good ones do — half-formed, occasionally brought up, never acted on.
Then one afternoon, sitting around with family, trading old stories, somebody dropped a line from a movie everybody in the room knew. Didn't even get to finish it — someone else jumped in and said it with them. Nobody explained the reference. Nobody asked what it was from. The room just knew, like everybody in that house happened to speak the same second language.
That's the whole idea, really. You say the line, somebody catches it — finishes it, says it back, or just gives you that look. And in that second, the idea stopped being a thought we kept putting off and started being a to-do list. We picked the lines that had earned their spot — the ones people actually say, not just remember — and started building the shirts we'd been looking for the whole time.
You already say it. Might as well wear it.
